Elephant House is a comfortable lodge just 8km from the main entrance of Addo Elephant National Park in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. Elephant House is situated just 8km from the main entrance to Addo Elephant National Park where one can self-drive or go on a guided safari with The Elephant House Safari Co. which operates excellent daily game drives into Addo on an open Land Cruiser.The Addo Elephant National Park is one of the world's great conservation success stories and embraces one of the highest concentrations of big game in Africa. In addition to the famous elephants of Addo the park also has lion, black rhino, buffalo, hyena, jackal and a variety of antelope whilst over 165 species of birds have been recorded as well as the flightless dung beetle which is almost endemic to Addo.

Elephant House consists of seven standard rooms and one family unit. The wide verandas (filled with comfortable sofas) forming a series of courtyards are a defining feature, whilst the décor of Elephant House evokes Colonial and African images and is furnished with the owners private collection of antiques, Persian rugs and Africana art. The spacious bedrooms open onto courtyards and private verandas. Each thatched room comes with air-conditioning and heating and has a king-size bed in a bedroom. The spacious en-suite bathroom provides a hairdryer and bathrobes.

Dining
Breakfast is served daily and light lunches can be taken on the terraces or by a pool. In the evening, 3-course candlelit dinners are accompanied by Cape wines. 24-hour room service is available.
Recreation
Children are most welcome and excellent babysitters are available on request. The children also have use of the "Club Room" which has a selection of games and a DVD library.Apart from game drives into Addo there is also a varied list of other activities available including elephant back safaris, canoeing trips, and cultural tours.
