The Colonial House

Once the British consulate of Chiang Mai, The Colonial House exudes old world charm and features a wrap around veranda edging manicured gardens. Reminiscing the days when distinguished guests were lavishly entertained, our weekday Afternoon Tea ritual and weekend High Tea boutique buffet are famous for very a good reason. The creative tapas menu inspires evenings with a selection of gourmet light bites, paired perfectly with a glass of fine wine or one of our sumptuous signature cocktails.

The Bar and Cigar Lounge

Retaining a retro feel with dark polished teak wood fixtures, high padded bar stools and elegant earth tone floor tiles, the colonial bar within the old British consulate building is an elegant venue for pre-dinner drinks and sophisticated nightcaps. Our creative Smartini, Mojito and Scorpido concoctions are just some of the highlights on our extensive cocktail menu.  A fine selection of champagne, along with new and old world wines, have been sourced from around the globe.  For cigar aficionados, a large selection of Cuban cigars is available from the Humidor, and can be paired with a single malt from our vast whisky collection.

This discreet upper lounge is open exclusively to Kasara Suite guests, with a dedicated concierge on standby to fulfil every request. Rest inside on cushy living room couches or outside at shady veranda tables. Enjoy complimentary temptations, from a breakfast buffet to all day refreshments, and then cocktails, wine and gourmet canapés in the evening.

Countryside & Culture Bike Tour

Travel by air conditioned van to the outskirts of Chiang Mai. Set out on mountain bikes with a local guide who is renowned for his cultural knowledge. Cycle past rice paddies, farmland and the Mae Ping River. Visit temples, meet the locals and stop at a village rice whiskey factory.
