The buildings in Berg en Dal Rest Camp, Kruger National Park are set within natural bush and the gardens planted with flowering shrubs and aloes, leaving much of the natural habitat unchanged within the camp. Berg en Dal is one of the newest camps in the Kruger National Park and offers visitors outstanding accommodation and lodging facilities.
Berg en Dal Rest Camp, Kruger National Park, was opened in 1984, meaning 'mountain and dale' aptly named for its superb location. Great care has been taken to preserve the natural vegetation in the camp area, which comprises Malelane Mountain Bushveld (woodland), attracting a variety of grazers. The area hosts White Rhino, Kudu, Impala, Giraffe, some Elephant, Reedbuck, Klipspringer, Grey Rhebok and warthog.
Accomodation
Berg-en-Dal Rest Camp offers 23 family cottages, 69 bungalows and 2 guest houses with multiple bedrooms. 72 camping spots are also available for tents or caravans for the more adventurous traveller. All stands are equipped with a power point. All lodging and accommodation units in Berg-en-Dal Rest Camp have a bar-sized fridge.
Bungalow Accommodation
Berg-en-Dal Rest Camp bungalows has one room with a separate en-suite bathroom with air-conditioning. Some of the units have their own kitchenettes on the veranda, while others share communal kitchen facilities.
Guest House Accommodation and Lodging
The Guest House are large luxury units enjoying prime locations within the Berg-en-Dal Rest Camp. The well-equipped kitchens with microwave ovens, several bedrooms and bathrooms make for a wonderful 'home away from home' while on safari in the Kruger National Park.
The J Le Roux Guesthouse has 4 air-conditioned bedrooms which can sleep a total of 6 persons. The open-plan kitchen is equipped with a stove, refrigerator/freezer, sink, cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery.
Family Cottage Accommodation
A separate shower, toilet and bath are available in the bathrooms of the Family Cottages at the Berg-en-Dal Rest Camp. The spacious open plan kitchen and dining rooms as well as the lounge and bedrooms are air-conditioned.
The 23 fully equipped Family Cottages at the Berg-en-Dal Rest Camp offer 6 bed units two of which are accessible to wheelchairs. One room features a double bed, the other 2 single beds while 2 bunk beds are located in the lounge of the Family Cottage.
Dining
Berg-en-Dal Rest Camp has a restaurant and cafeteria with an outstanding view of the Matjulu dam. Traditional dance groups from various local communities entertain guests regularly and conference facilities with a capacity of 300 are also available.

Guided Bush Walks
Early morning and afternoon guided walking safaris are available and should be pre booked. A maximum of eight guests are taken to interesting locations in the surrounding bush veld areas. The walk itself is exciting and relaxed and are accompanied by experienced and armed game ranges who are happy to share their knowledge of the bush. Rhinos, elephants and lions are tracked on foot and participants learn and observe fascinating facts about the African bush.
